Mini high torque Starters.

Dave,

That starter is a bit larger than the IMI mini starter I have. The IMI
starter is 8 lbs and it appear to not be as long as that one. Is this
made for passenger car AMC V-8s? There was a mini starter in some Jeeps
with a 360 from the factory that used a ring gear that was offset from
what our standard flywheels were. If this is designed to be a direct
replacement for that style, you will need that flywheel as well in order
for the gears to line up properly. Can you remove this one without
undoing the headers? All in all, looks like a good starter for the price.
Just a couple of years back, you couldn't get an AMC mini starter for
under $200.

I found a company distributing high torque mini starters for AMC & Jeep
motors.

I bought one on Monday and installed it on Tuesday after overnighting it
from Texas to Kenosha.

I found the fit and finis very good and is adjustable to proper rotation
to clear many objects like my headers.

The headers were no longer a problem with the starter cable since the
starter placed the cable between the starter and the block.

The cost prior to shipping was $129.00 for a two year warranty or
$149.00 with a lifetime warranty.
