IMHO, would be a lot easier to just use one of the drop-in R12 replacements (Freezone, Freeze 12, etc.). No need to "convert" or change anything. I have it in my Eagle, and it works great. You cannot however charge it until the site glass bubbles stop (bubbles are normal when fully-charged with these drop-ins); you have to charge by system volume (must read the instructions!!). Only thing is you have to have your HVAC Cert to buy those drop-ins, and a "side-punch" can tap to get it out. But anyone can get their AC Cert on-line for $25 (sites such as Mainstream Engineering); you just have to pass the open-book test (not that hard if you have minimal AC knowledge). The kit you need depends on the compressor type since it only replaces seals in the compressor. There should be a plate on the compressor somewhere stating what type it is. If you can't find a plate with a brand name and model number describe it here and someone should be able to help. If it looks like a small lawn mower engine that's easy -- it's a York.
