Presently we have the 304 2 barrel in this vehicle. It seems strong, contrary to publications. Decided to test its performance with 60 series rear tires. Whole shot at 4000 rpms produced rubber through first gear all the way through second gear. Amazing how it performs contrary to articles written. I am presently considering swapping the 2 barrel for a 4 barrel set up and doing an ET run. After I complete this venture, the 304 will be put in my 83 scrambler presently being restored. I do have a built 343 theoretically previous owner states close 480 hp, that is in my 1974 javelin. 2 thoughts: 401 into javelin, 343 switched into the spirit. My question is: setting up the present 304 with 4 barrel intake. I am thinking that a stock 4 barrel intake would suffice with a street-able carb. Does anyone have a used set up as I have described??? Best regards, Garry Duluth, MN Garry and Suzie (218) 728-5985 (218) 728-1948 fax (218) 341-4085 Garry cell (218) 341-4287 Suzie cell
