The thread is titled "improved oil pump gears" it's either in the vendors section or engine repair I forget. > I agree I don't think it is a good idea using aluminum gears simply because they have the same rate of expansion as the cover itself, the stock gears STILL expand regardless of whether it is the SAME "rate" of expansion or not the time it takes for the stock gears to expand versus the aluminum gears to expand is probably a non issue as long as the stock stuff is up to spec to begin with. The issue: is the questionable sacrificing of durability of aluminum gears worth the advantages of linear expansion of the components when they are all aluminum, I doubt aluminum gears could last as long as stock, especially for any kind of performance driving. It might be O.K. in a strip only car where the linear expnasion in the small time intervals of drag racing would make more sense over stock steel/aluminum systems, but for a street strip or street car it's dosent make sense and the intial increases in pressure that newly installed gears provides seems to degrade quickly. Mr. "class" errr, I mean...Bart, Like I care if you know him; read the post over there on the "amc" vendor bashing section of the forum. My own opinion is the gears are a good idea "IF" they work, seems to me though AFTER reading the tetimonials over there that they may need more work. P.S. Welcome back! Glad you survived the Hurricane, hope you were'nt too scared. ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
